About the Local Reseller Partners:

Yahoo! has partnerships with over 40 online and directory companies where Yahoo provides a suite of Internet Search products and services for them to provide to their local clients.   As Yahoo continues to execute our “local online strategy” we will be expanding the types of partners we work with in addition to expanding our suite of Internet products to reseller companies, including Yahoo! display ads with behavioral, demographic and geographic targeting.

About the Role:

This Senior Manager, Partner Management position within the North America Partnership group will work directly with national advertising reseller partners in order to drive revenue and overall success of the partnership.

In this role, the successful candidate will need to lead through influence, working with both partner executives and internal Yahoo managers to ensure that performance and revenue goals are being achieved.

Among the chief job responsibilities for this position are:

•Manage the overall relationship with a variety of national advertising partners who will resell Yahoo inventory, working with them to create revenue goals and go-to-market operational strategies
•Help develop and execute plan to work with direct mail companies to target specific categories of business for increased ad spend onto Yahoo
•Work with other national channel sales organizations to resell Yahoo inventory.
•Establish benchmarks and metrics in which to measure the performance of the various reseller partners.
•Track and manage timely achievement of project milestones when rolling out new products to partners.
•Coordinate activities and regular communication between the reseller partners and the various departments in Yahoo that are involved in the partnership.
•Educate and actively migrate best practices – specifically when it comes to sales and revenue generation – among the reseller partners.
•Make regular visits to the reseller partners.
•Work with the sales executives at the various reseller partners to effectively bundle and sell Yahoo services to their clients local markets.
•Work with the reseller partners to create market opportunity and analysis plans, including how to better serve specific client and vertical groups
•Track, analyze and make recommendations regarding pricing, as well as placement of Yahoo products
•Manage possible sales channel conflicts between national reseller sales forces,  other reseller sales forces (including the newspaper consortium) and Yahoo sales personnel

This position requires a substantial amount of travel, as this person will need to make frequent visits to our partners’ markets and sales operations.

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications (these are minimum qualifications REQUIRED for this position):

•5+ years of media sales and management experience
•Experience working for, or buying media from direct mail companies, such as: Valassis, etc.
•Experience working with channel marketing representation companies
•Knowledge and past experience in the FSI or print circular business is a plus.

Preferable Job Qualifications:

•7+ years of media sales experience
•Experience in business development activities
•Experience in administering training solutions to large media companies
•Experience working with marketing to prepare product positioning and market content
•Experience in managing projects with task, timelines, budgets, etc.
•Being comfortable in a fast-paced, innovative environment
•Being thorough, articulate, and results oriented
•Strong analytical and technical skills
