This New Business Opportunity is creating an innovative web services offering targeting our SMB (Small to Mid-sized Business) customer base and enabling further growth within this market segment. The VP, Product Management/Business Development will be responsible for building and leading a world-class marketing team that understands and prioritizes customer requirements, monitors competitive offerings and ensures delivery of compelling solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop strategy and design of the business model. Evaluate competition and benchmark leading web services/SaaS companies; partner with Product Architect to identify architecture requirements to create a seamless web portal experience
- Direct responsibilty for delivery of agreed upon customer revenue goals. Tracks and reports on progress against key milestones, changing tactics as needed to ensure results. Prioritizes resources across programs to deliver the maximum return
- Drive customer/user satisfaction by partnering with Marketing and Software Development teams to design an easy to use interface and intuitive navigation path that enable users to find what they needs quickly and efficiently-optimizing the customer experience resulting in more time spent, and increasing leads, transactions and return visits
- Maintain expertise and keep informed on developments and trends in eCommerce, navigation, blogs, email marketing, social networks, etc. to ensure web based capabilities are in place to enable product, marketing and other internal client or customer needs
- Partner effectively with internal Leaders (e.g. software development, sales, and senior management) in order to effectively leverage existing channels and implement new channels and capabilities
- Rapidly develop, test and scale new channels that deliver a positive ROI
- Operate as a key leader in the SMB Portal organization by providing strategic insights and recommendations that contribute to the overall achievement of PBI's business and financial objectives
- Attract, develop and engage a team of exceptional product management and business development professionals
- Ensure that rapid testing and learning are conducted in a systematic way to promote critical breakthroughs and a seamless customer experience
- Drive the evaluation and segmentation of SMB market
Scope/Dimensions of the Job:
- Accountable for dlivering financial commitments (revenue and EBIT targets) for portal
- Direct reports will include both Product Managers responsible for design and delivery of offerings and Business Development Managers responsible for establishing relationships required to resell required third party solutions
- Responsible for product management and commercial success of all web services offerings targeted at SMB market for the entire corporation
- Reports to Vice President of SMB Portal. Regularly works with software development, marketing, and strategy leads and product managers from other business units. Interacts regularly with senior management
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with minimum of 10 years business experience and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in running a transaction driven e-Commerce site. Consistent record of profitable revenue growth
- Strong technical expertise with web based technologies and / or IT experience including web based service delivery, navigation, and usability. Proven experience in leveraging these technologies to increase traffic and drive revenue
- Strong experience with internet marketing, affilitate and email programs optimization and direct experience with leading eCommerce implementations / upgrades, recapturing exit traffic, increasing order size and improving time on sites
- Hands on leader with strong communication skills, organizational and time management skills required with abilty to work with limited direction; high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated abilty to influence and collaborate across organizational lines are critical capabilities for this role. Demonstrated success in working well with internal clients and building optimal cross-company solutions
- Advanced PC skills with the ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Knowledge of web services business models
